Happy Monday to you all. Last night, I realized that I never posted my New Year's resolutions. After careful consideration, here's what I came up with (no particular order).
* Crochet for at least one hour a day (how else will I get to perfection???)
* Learn a new craft (knitting seems to be a big one at my office, BUT I want to sew. I can't afford to buy new clothes and I am losing weight rapidly.)
* Learn how to live on a budget (I'll never buy a house if I don't)
* Have more patience with the children (AKA don't yell)
* Be healthy (set an example for the children by treating my body better)
So, there you have it. My resoultions for 2009. I've already experienced set backs with most of them...LOL. It's a new week, I'll give it another try.
Crochet Update...
Last night I tried the Puffy Slouch Hat and it took two tries but it worked. I stupidly forgot the camera at home so I will post the picture later.

Girl, I hear you! I have that same issue with my kids patience. I guess its because I grew up with a yelling mom.
I'm losing weight like crazy as well and decided to make something for myself this year. I guess this will be my selfish year because I'm constantly doing things for other people.
That puffy slouch hat is really cute - I may have to try that sometime.
I want to learn how to sew, too. One of these days.. Although, I'm jealous that you need new clothes because you're losing weight - I have the opposite problem! : )
I used to work for a mortgage company, that bought first-time homebuyer loans from other banks all over the country (I reviewed the loan files for missing documents, etc). Every state has a home finance agency that provides money to banks to make low-interest, first-time homebuyer loans. These are good, reputable programs (no subprime loans, or adjustable rates, etc), and many have downpayment assistance.
